Elenor

Adam sat by his desk,

Brooding, moaning, reminiscing,

Each day to him a herculean task,

Her memories made his heart sing.

She was chaos, she was peace,

With her his soul felt unleashed,

She was quirky, she was wise,

To bring her back there was no device,

With trouble in her soul, she smiled,

Now she is away, light years and miles,

She amazed him, she dazed him,

He was on the threshold, on the rim,

Without her he could neither sink or swim,

His heart tossed and squirmed.

Those fights, dilemmas, he wanted,

Now her memories come haunted,

Everyday seems the same,

Filled with void, everything seemed lame.

He knew she wouldn’t come back,

Her memories left a residue,

There was more to give, nothing anew,

The void hit like a bolt, a smack.

She loved him, she confused him,

She cared for him, she hurt him,

She showed him the way,

To a brighter day,

She showed him darkness,

They had more to harness.

Neverthless he loved her,

For she was his troubled, adorable, Elenor.
